Our Story

Located in central Michigan, The Rooster Saloon has become quite the staple to Chippewa Lake.

When I first had the vision for a new spot in Chippewa Lake, I honeslty wasn’t even going to serve food. It was just unfamiliar territory. But being there wasn’t much available in the area, I had to give it a go. And with a no idea of a menu in mind… I knew I just wanted different items that you couldnt get anywhere else.

I opened this bar with basically no idea what I was doing, (sometimes I still feel that way) The only knowledge I had was from working in Wisconsin at Skis Saloon. Tony and April had the business ideas down pat and I borrowed many of those here at the Rooster. Might have stole a few creative ideas from my girl Beth also. Unfortunally that bar no longer stands but I showcase a piece of the building at the bar. And think of the bar and friends I made daily!

With my family background in business owning, I knew I had it in me to at minimum give this a shot. I often tell people when they ask me why… why did you want to do this. And my answer stays the same- It was a flip of a coin I'm either going to succeed or fail and only one way to figure it out. to go in head first. I started up my own business at 13 selling fruits and veggies at farmers markets, once I moved to WI my father took over. So with that lots of farm work in the spring/summer along with the bar

Now we come to how did you get the name… farm girl at heart. I wanted a place with a rustic them and to keep in the animal family alongside other local business in surronding towns. And after pages and pages of name ideas, down to many different logo designs. The Rooster Saloon was born.
